Oboe Reed Blanks

Oboe Reed Blanks

$13.00$70.00

PLEASE NOTE: All blanks will be profiled with Option 1 (see below) unless otherwise requested. If you desire a different profile option other than one of these three listed below, contact me at  hbauschka@yahoo.com.

Profile Options:
1) Tip and blend are debarked to the front of the plateau. Ample center thickness will remain to the end of the tip. The tip is thinned just enough to clip open without crushing fibers. No differentiation of blend in relation to the tip or plateau is visible.
2) Option 1 profiling, plus the tip and blend will be more lightly defined and blended, and the front half of the plateau is lightly debarked, preserving a heavy spine and wide ribs in it. Finally, the sides of the blend are marked and faintly scraped in on the sides of the ribs, for reference. The tip is showing some blend and corner differentiation with backlighting.
3) Option 2 profiling, plus the bark is removed from the entire plateau and back, preserving heavy spine and side ribs. The resonance windows at the back of the reed are becoming visible. The blend is more clearly defined at 65mm along the rails. The tip is neatly clipped but left excessively long and heavy. The reed will make a high and tight peep when air is forced through it at considerable effort.
